Bosch Security Systems’ new Smoke detector 500 series has been awarded the International Security Trophy for the Best Security Product of 2008 in the Spanish market.

The award is an annual event hosted by the Spanish security magazine SEGURITECNIA. The 2008 award, which was the 22^nd in the magazine’s history, took place on December 17^th during SEGURITECNIA’s traditional breakfast session at Madrid’s Melia-Castilla Hotel. Representatives from the public and from Spanish security systems manufacturers, installers and industry users were present.

The trophy was presented to Antonio Recio Escamilla, the General Manager of Bosch Security Systems Spain by the General of the Guardia Civil, Salvador Romero.

The 500 series impressed SEGURITECNIA’s Technical Advisory Board with its flat aesthetic design and the range of colors inserts, allowing it to fit discreetly into any interior or ceiling design. The Smoke detector 500 series is also distinguished by its superior fire-detection capability which includes an automatic dust measurement function to reduce false alarms. Versions with a built-in gas sensor are also available and the series includes both conventional and addressable versions.  

With its flat, simple design, the Smoke detector 500 series is also dirt and dust resistant and easy to clean.
