REG™ licence plate capture cameras are used at the Port of Helsinki, forming part of one of the most advanced automated cargo and traffic management systems to be found anywhere in the world.
Designed by Finnish company Visy Oy, the system gives port managers complete control over the movement of vehicles and freight and as such helps them meet the exacting demands of ISPS code. Conforming to ISPS code is mandatory for all ports under European Union jurisdiction and was developed to raise security standards and protect against the very real threat of terrorism.
